Hello, and many thanks for visiting my website.
I am a licensed NLP trainer with the Society of NLP and am a member obf the Association of NLP and the NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners. I have been working with organisations and individuals for over 10 years, helping them make positive changes. I appear regularly in the press and media discussing NLP and related topics.

I first became interested in NLP in 1998, and eventually trained as an NLP Practitioner in 2000. Originally I had no intention of doing this as a job and trained purely for personal reasons, but soon friends and friends of friends asked me to help them make changes in their lives, such as stopping smoking or losing weight, so I set up a small part time private practice. I qualified as a Master Practitioner in 2001 and in 2003 I was awarded my Licensed Trainer qualification with the Society of NLP.
That year I set up the Birmingham NLP Training Academy and in 2007 re-branded as "Matt Caulfield Training and Consultancy". I moved to South Wales in 2008 and moved my private practice to Cardiff, however I still train NLP in Birmingham and around the country.

NLP
NLP (or Neuro-linguistic Programming) is the "study of the structure of subjective experience". It is NOT the success tool that most people tout it about as (although that is an application), but a very effective way of understand how we think what we do, and therefore an easy and quick way to change the way you think and behave.
Coaching
Coaching, simply put, is a "future focused" approach, helping clients determine and achieve personal goals. Coaching uses multiple methods that will help clients with the process of setting and reaching their desired goals. I use coaching with a view to help people refocus and simplify their lives, to get them to slow down.
Hypnosis
Hypnosis is most commonly recognised as the term "hypnotherapy". Hypnotherapy is an application of hypnosis that combines hypnotic trance-work and psychotherapeutic techniques. Hypnosis has much broader applications than just therapy and can be used to help change unwanted habits and behaviours quickly and easily, as well as improve communication performance and well being.
Mindfulness

Mindfulness is originally a Buddhist concept, but recently it has been embraced by mainstream psychology. By living more mindfully we can become calmer and more focused and studies have also shown that mindfulness can help with such conditions as OCD, chronic pain, stress and depression.
EFT
EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique, is often recognised as the "tapping technique". It utilises a series of movements and actions that can easily and quickly undo blocks in your life including cravings, fears and anxieties and unwanted thoughts.
